sakura tea cabinet
Spring on Vancouver Island is a beautiful sight, with cherry blossoms & shining moss on most every surface. I wanted to honor this incredible turn of the season with my Sakura Tea Cabinet. It's hand-crafted from cherry wood with hand-carved sakura blossoms adorning the entire back panel. The back panel is painted with milk paint & layered with wax, then polished to a piano finish to achieve the look of wet moss that I so love. Inspired by the cherry blossoms I added a kumiko border on either side of the front glass panel to accent the tea cabinet appeal. This cabinet mounts on the wall with a seamless & simple french cleat system.
